Complete (13 lines). Draft, handwritten in blue pen and pencil. In 2/4 and 3/4. Collection includes 2 other drafts of the same movement. Piatigorsky perhaps was introduced to Ernst Toch during Piatigorsky's tenure with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in the 1920s. They were definitely in contact in the United States. Toch composed his Three Impromptus, Op. 90c for Piatigorsky on his 60th birthday. He recorded this work with Jascha Heifetz on 4/16/65 for RCA.
